<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><P><SPAN>Points of Diversion - Water Right Query System is the statewide point of diversion (POD) point layer published through the Water Right Query System. It contains one point feature for each POD on the public version of each Montana water right. Along with the parent water right's identity, status, priority dates, owners, purposes, and quantities, each feature carries the POD-specific attributes: POD number, source major type and source name, means of diversion, associated ditch, well depth, period of diversion, and the aquifer assigned to the source. Well characteristics matched from the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology Ground Water Information Center (GWIC) were added in March 2025 - GWIC identifier, static water level, flowing (artesian) indicator, yield or test rate, water temperature, casing diameter, and pump size. Full legal land description attribution is included at township, range, section, and aliquot-part levels, along with a formatted label field and the recorded Montana State Plane coordinate pair. Features are placed on the centroid of the mapped legal land description; as of 2024-08-15 PODs are no longer placed on the recorded x/y coordinates.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV> |
